Transcripts

Every closed ticket is archived as a plain-text transcript of its full message history.

How they work

On close, Ticket Nexus:

  1. Fetches the channel's entire history (paginated, not just the last 100 messages).
  2. Formats it into a readable .txt transcript.
  3. Saves the transcript with the ticket, so you can read it later on the web dashboard.
  4. Posts a Ticket Closed embed to the log channel with a ๐Ÿ“ฅ Download Transcript button.
  5. If DM Transcripts is enabled (default), DMs the file to the ticket opener.

If generating the transcript fails, the ticket still closes and the stored text is "Failed to generate transcript."

Getting a transcript

  • Log channel โ€” press Download Transcript on the closure embed. The button rebuilds the file from the saved copy, so it works even after the channel is gone or older messages were deleted.
  • Opener's DMs โ€” sent automatically when DM Transcripts is on. If the user has DMs closed, only the log copy exists.
  • Web dashboard โ€” Tickets lists every ticket; open one to read its transcript in the browser or download the .txt. See Web Dashboard.

TIP

Make your log channel private so only authorized staff can read ticket history.
