Adding the Bot
You need Manage Server (or to be the owner) in the Discord server you're adding Ticket Nexus to.
Add it from the dashboard
- Open the web dashboard and sign in with Discord.
- Find your server in the list and click Add to server.
- Discord opens its invite screen with your server already selected. Keep the permissions ticked and click Authorize.
- Back on the dashboard, your server now shows Manage.
The Add to server button is the easiest way, but any Ticket Nexus invite link works: the bot registers your server when it joins. It only leaves a server that has been deactivated by BusyBee staff.
Permissions the bot needs
The invite asks for these, and the bot needs them wherever tickets are created:
- Manage Channels — to create and delete ticket channels.
- Manage Roles — to change who can see a ticket when it's claimed, moved, or someone is added or removed.
- Create Private Threads, Send Messages in Threads and Manage Threads — only for departments that use thread tickets.
- View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, Read Message History.
- Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles — only used if you turn on Staff Can Ping Roles.
If you change the bot's permissions later, see Discord Permissions for what each one is for.
